Bkean is a 501(c)(3) certified non-profit organization based in the United States, “ BKEAN’s Ideology, Principle of Abatement of Poverty via Sub Saharan Cultural, Sociological and Pragmatic Economic Means Found in the Various Bkean Franchise Style Programs, Self Employment Opportunities in Industries that also Mitigate Climate Change in its Process and Output.”
Additionally, Bkean works to address economic inequality among disadvantaged youth of color in the United States by fostering a symbiotic relationship that utilizes products and raw materials produced by Bkean indigent African youth.
Bkean has a different approach and ideology for addressing poverty in Africa compared to traditional NGOs. In pursuit of genuine and measurable results, we believe in doing things differently, as Albert Einstein famously said, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
The Bkean Foundation, established on October 22, 2004, dedicated over a decade to conducting comprehensive sociological and economic research aimed at understanding the root causes of extreme poverty, hunger, inadequate education, poor health, and severe deprivation, particularly among African children. The findings of this extensive research revealed that the primary contributors to these issues were pervasive widespread institutional corruption and vested interests both locally and internationally. These forces aimed to exploit African nations, deliberately impoverishing their populations to maintain control over valuable resources.
In response to these critical findings, the Bkean Foundation developed the BKEAN Ideology, a solution-oriented approach to address poverty in Africa. Central to this ideology is the adoption of the business franchise system, recognized for its proven success in providing sustainable self-employment opportunities. This approach offers numerous benefits, including access to a successful business model, comprehensive training and support, affordable and eco-friendly energy solutions, a flexible funding system, and access to global markets.
The Bkean franchise system empowers individuals and cooperatives by providing them with essential tools, ongoing maintenance and support, education in local languages, group marketing initiatives, and access to regional and international trade networks. By leveraging the expertise of industry professionals, the Bkean Foundation aims to enhance product quality, empower local communities, and alleviate poverty sustainably.
This approach will be implemented across various sectors, using agriculture, and the agricultural value chain as a catalyst. This is primarily because
At the heart of our programs is our desire to support global efforts in mitigating climate change. Embedded in all our poverty abatement programs and their methods are deliberate, innovative, and pragmatic steps to heal and protect the earth.
Bkean aligns its mission with UN Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on climate change mitigation, ecosystem protection, and economic growth.
Also, our approach to alleviating poverty through franchising aligns with the goals outlined in COP28 declarations concerning the transformation of food systems and health. The strategy involves leveraging agriculture and food systems to enhance household incomes, minimize greenhouse gas emissions, and strengthen resilience, productivity, livelihoods, nutrition, and water efficiency, as well as human, animal, and ecosystem health.
